Purchased the Big Boy attachment for the taller seat also along with the adjustable backrest. Perfect king’s throne for the shop, just got to keep others out of it now. Planning to purchase the Big Boy attachment for the shorter seat will be a nice add on. Very happy with my choices.
Great customer service! I originally had called with a warranty issue, (the locking mechanism to position the the seat height had worn out), but the customer service person was so nice I ordered an upgrade for my chair! When I described my chair problem the technician quickly understood and offered sending the replacement parts needed. Then when I considered buying the upgrade parts, he offered to send everything without charging for shipping. You guys make great products and take good care of your customers after the sale. It's a real plus that, when calling customer service, I spoke to an agent in the United States. Also a big plus, I'm proud to say your products are made in America! By the way, my co-workers at Honeywell Aerospace are very envious of my chair. In fact, my shop purchased several Viper chairs since I purchased mine.

This came with the DIY bundle. I'm not really a widebody but it would be great for full-bodied folks.
I already mentioned this in my initial post, but the additional comfort provided by "The Big Boy" seat cushion extension is phenomenal if you spend considerable time seated while working on lengthy projects.

Great products,the big boy seat ( I'm not a Big Boy 6' 185) is a must no matter what size you are. If you don't get the tool tray you'll regret it later. I regret not ordering mine with the higher back rest. Overall this chair will last a lifetime and be handed down for generations . Thank you Vyper for building a quality product made in the USA.

Wheels squeal a little, back hurts after sitting on and working on vehicles almost all day. Back rest could be alot bigger for the price. Otherwise ok.

I added the Big Boy attachment to my Vyper chair, and I honestly wish I had ordered it from the start. The extra width makes a huge difference in comfort, especially during long hours in the garage. I no longer feel like I’m balancing on the edge of the seat, and getting up is much easier thanks to the added stability. The build quality is exactly what I’ve come to expect from Vyper heavy duty, solid, and clearly made to last. Installation was straightforward, and it fit my chair perfectly. The wider steel base gives the chair an even more stable feel when I’m leaning or reaching for tools. If you’re a larger person, or even if you just want a more comfortable and confidence-inspiring seat, this upgrade is worth every penny. I know people that buy these chairs are mechanically inclined but I thought the instruction could have been better illustrated. I bought the chair and arm rests, then added the adjustable back rest and later bought the big boy seat. Just review the instruction with someone on staff that is not handy and see what they see as a challenge?
My husband has been wanting the Vyper chair for his knife shop but would not get it for himself. I went and brought it for him to surprise him. He loves it and can’t wait to start using it! The chair was easy to assemble and the adjustable height will make it easy for him to transition to his different work areas.

I really didn't need the big boy attachment, but the extra room to move and not be on the edge is excellent. I would recommend anyone buying a Viper shop chair to get the extra. It is well worth it.

This is a very nice addition to my original stool, both for comfort and safety when you go to sit down. I had a couple of close calls and at 79 your recovery muscles are not as strong and fast as 25.

My chair came without the big seat. Was ordered just a week behind. To me it is so much more comfortable with the larger seat. Do not have to sit right in the center, can be off to the side. Highly recommend it for anyone.
Still waiting for arm rest attachment to complete putting it together but like what I see so far and anxious to start using it.

The standard seat is very nice, but just a little too narrow for me. (6'-1", 250 lbs) Ordered the big boy extension, and now it is like a couch! Still small enough to maneuver and work with but super comfortable. Very well built too just like the chair itself. This extension uses a steel plate for support and it is a STOUT system. They are pricey, but the quality really is top notch.
Wife wanted this and she loves it. The stitching and fabric are out of this world quality.
The seat is amazing on its own with the extend seat it’s even better. It like your in a nice padded chair not a shop stool. It would be amazing if you added a bigger back rest.

The Sidekick mounts on the side of the chair for what you're actively using (spray bottles, polishers, microfibers, a cold drink), while the Tool Tray bolts underneath for what you've already used or what might fall (loose bolts, dropped sockets, shop rags, small parts).
They're built to work together, not against each other. Detailers and fabricators who run the Complete Package (Robust Steel Max + Tool Tray + Sidekick) consistently say the two-accessory combo turns the chair into a real mobile workstation. Sidekick at hand for the polisher you're using right now, Tool Tray below for the spent microfibers and parts. If you can only pick one, the Tool Tray is the accessory most buyers later say they wish they'd added from day one.

The decision is usually clean. If you're a larger-frame buyer (or an older buyer wanting more leverage when standing), get the Big Boy. If you're a detailer, fabricator, or anyone who works with supplies at the seat all day, get the Sidekick. The Adjustable Backrest, Adjustable Armrest, and Tool Tray all work with either choice, so you don't lose any other accessories by picking one over the other.
For most buyers, the stock backrest is built right and works exactly as designed. The Adjustable Backrest is the upgrade for the buyer who lives in the chair, taller height range, up to 10° of recline, and the ability to dial in the support position to your specific body and the way you actually work.
Roughly half of buyers add it during initial chair configuration. The other half buy it months later, after deciding they want to fine-tune the backrest position even further. Yes. Every Vyper accessory is designed to bolt onto chairs already in your shop, you don't have to buy them at the same time as the chair. The Tool Tray, Sidekick, Big Boy, Adjustable Backrest, and Adjustable Armrest all install with basic hand tools and ship with instructions and hardware included. The Vyper Backrest add-on works on the Robust Steel Pro and the Low-Pro Backrest works on the Low Pro, for buyers who started with a stool form factor and decided they wanted lumbar support after the fact.
The Big Boy is not compatible with the Low-Pro, but is compatible with the Robust Steel Sport. The Tool Tray and Sidekick are designed primarily for the Robust Steel Max and Elevated Steel Max chair frames. For a stool-specific tool-holding solution, the Robust Steel Pro ships with a built-in stationary tool tray as a standard feature, no add-on required.
