Definitely a superb product. This is my third stool. I did have a little trouble installing the bolts to mount the backrest to the seat cushion. As I would get close to seating the bolts, they would get extremely hard to turn. I backed them all back out and used a tap to make sure the threads were clear. I also ran the bolts through a die to remove some of the paint on the threads. After this the bolts seated fully and I didn't strip out any of the inserts!

Everything works great. Only complaint I have is the tool trays and backrests were delivered at different times than my chairs. So I had to wait for everything to assemble them. Kind wish I ordered 2 backrests instead of 1 though.
After finally convincing myself to get the Vyper chairs I couldn’t be happier, these chairs are truly built rock solid. Excellent quality, precision engineering, and very comfortable. I also love the Freedom paint job!

These Vyper chairs are expensive, but the old saying 'You get what you pay for' is certainly true here, these chairs are fantastic. This is my second one, more to come I'm sure!!

My backrest seems very sturdy. I’m still waiting for the stool to mount it on.
There are 10 bolt holes, but they only provided 6 bolts and 4 plastic plugs. It feels sturdy but the extra hardware for security would have been nice.
This little back rest is better than sliced bread if your going to sit on the low stool for more than an hour. I wouldn't be with out it.

I use my viper at many different levels and and need to adjust the back of the seat quite often. I simple reach down, find the nicely milled adjustment cylinder and that's it.
I’m an old guy (85 YO) with a bad back and find this a necessity for sitting a long time while I work.
I like the extra hight because I am older and also the adjustments. I would have like instructions instead of the Q code because I am 80 and do not like co line instructions. If had paper it would not have taken as long to put together.
This addition adds to the comfort of this chair. Glad I added it.
The chair itself is very nice. While discussing my order with Vyper I was led to believe that it came assembled. I say this because when I asked if the standard components (back rest) could be swapped out for the adjustable one. The answer was no, we used to do that but it takes too long to un-pack, swap out and re-pack. It wasn’t assembled. The assembly instructions confused this 50 year aircraft mechanic. Do this before that…oh wait, don’t do that if this…. Suggest at this price the manual should be clear perhaps a few cents spent on manuals for different configurations; arm rest, big boy, back rest.

I received a chair on Thursday the same day I put it together. The chair is awesome. The parts and the chair are well-made nice thick, nuts and bolts.Very solid Going to buy a few accessories to add onto it, but this is my last chair. Everything else I’ve ever bought have never lasted. Looks like this will be my last shop chair I purchase. Made in the USA 👍🏼
It is a wonderful upgrade. I’m 6’1” tall with a permanent back injury from military service. This has made a huge difference for me.

The adjustment capability is great. My only wish would be for a larger back pad to be used with the big boy seat. It just seems out of proportion.
I put the adjustable back rest on the taller seat as I felt like it would be needed more when working at a work bench. I was right not really needed for the shorter seat but makes a nice comfortable work bench seat. Happy that I purchased this add on.
It arrived quickly. So fast in fact i dont have the rest of the stool yet. It was packed really well. The assembly instructions were clear. I have it built waiting for the rest of the stool. It seems heavy-duty. I'm not sure i could break it with an anvil. The color is what i wanted. Looking forward to the whole stool. Good start and introduction to Vyper.

I like that I can adjust the backs angle but I find the adjustment knob a little cumbersome to operate and I wish that it had a spring that you could lean back into. In my opinion this would make the chair even more comfortable.
Great for finding the sweet spot on my back for support. I am comfortable all day because of this upgrade.

Now that’s a fully loaded chair! EZ lift, Adjustable backrest, big boy seat attachment, sidekick (powder coated and textured to match the other blue pieces) and the tool tray. Very comfortable and fits all of my needs perfectly!
This chair with adjustable backrest is hands down the best shop chair I’ve had in my 50+ years of shop work. I really enjoy the height adjustment on the back rest.
