It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be to take the chair apart to put the robust legs on there
It’s perfect height now. Thank You
Doug Fleming owner of the chair
Lissa made the chair purchase for
Father-in-laws day
Play Center, Coast very well very easy to install great colors all the way around love how they work love how they’re easily they go together when you purchase them to build your own chair different colors
Awesome chair i originally bought the robust steel max and it was a tad too tall for some of the stuff im currently doing but I will definitely end up using the tall legs the short legs were perfect for my shop setup! Thanks again!
I bought these to covert one of my elevates to a lower robust option and the swap over was pretty straight forward and fit perfectly my 6'3" son wasn't too happy with me but myself at 5'10" love the lower size its much closer to the stool I mainly use. I told him to get his own chair, doubt he'll save up enough money anytime soon to get one, but since he's experienced my vyper chairs I doubt he'll settle for anything less.
I originally bought the elevated steel max
I found that for most of what I do its almost to tall even all the way down.
changing to these legs let me lower the unit without buying another stool which I was very tempted to do.
Two sets, one low one high. High one is stationary but slides easily across my tile floors. Wheels on the short one. Thanks gang, I love them.
Low pro too.

Thank you for the continued support Edward!
I bought the tall version a couple years back for my job and I loved it, although be it a bit expensive. I changed jobs and no longer need the tall version, so I got the lower versions legs and I'm using it in my garage now. So at least the expense didn't go to waste, and I still get to enjoy it.
I use the Vyper stool as my primary mobility device at home. I also travel with it. I use it aggressively across thresholds and throughout my living space 100% of the time. Its been the best stool I’ve had these last 5 years I’ve required mobility assistance. I started out with regular office stools and was modifying them. Saw Vyper commercial during nascar and realized I didn’t need to reinvent the wheel, yall were light years ahead of me. I did have to do a simple modification to the Vyper and it made all the difference. I installed a 6 inch pipe to the threaded post, ensuring that the seat can’t naturally rotate to the floor during use, and as a result damage my floor, due to the length of the post. The mechanism that was supposed to prevent the rotation to the lowest point failed several times. It was likely user error but I can’t help but use it aggressively. I broke my prosthetic in inexplicable ways over the years.🤷♀️ I originally had the threaded post cut, that solved the problem of damage to the floor but it didn’t solve the spinning to the lowest point problem, but the pipe did. It’s been great since then. The seat now stays at a constant height reliably. I’ve gone through 5 legs the last 2 yrs so they are pretty durable. They have been bent severely 3 times during travel. I now disassemble and reassemble and transport in a hard case. It is holding up well with the frequent disassembly/reassembly. It was totally worth the $500 or so and I won’t hesitate to purchase a new one once the buying replacement parts strategy becomes futile. Thanks again, it really is a badass stool. Lori
They say, Measure Twice ~ Cut Once !
After I built my Viper Chair, I liked it but my feet wouldn't touch the floor. I ordered the Viper Robust legs and eureka I can move around. Measure Twice & Cit Once

Thank you for your support Thomas!
Bought the lower height legs because the elevated legs were taller than what I needed. Would be great to have legs that were somewhere in the middle in-between, tho.
Hello Vyper Team, My story maybe different than most as I set out to create the ultimate office chair. Do to physical limitations even the best HD office chairs failed. Then you came into the picture. I don't ever know of a time when I have owed such a finely crafted any thing. As I continued gather the rest of the parts I need and finish my chair I will update you and send you pictures. This truly is the last chair I'll ever own.
Thanks so much

Love my Viper. Originally ordered the Elevated Steel Max, but found it to be a little too tall, so I ordered a set of the regular shorter legs and the chair is perfect. Rock solid, feels like I will have it forever!
I order my chair with the taller legs. It is just a little too tall for me right now. So, I contacted customer service and they provided me with the part number to these. I ordered them and installed them. Extremely happy with the height of the chair now.
Additional legs
Once I received my taller chair, me at 6’4, I thought this would be great. I was surprised that I couldn’t be flat footed while sitting on the cushion. This is why I ordered the additional shorter legs and it worked great. Much easier great quality and customer service.
Adjustable Backrest: Replaces the stock backrest with a 10° tilt and 4" of height adjustment, for buyers who want to dial in lumbar support exactly.
Adjustable Armrest: A solid grip for sitting down and standing up, and most importantly, to improve posture / stability.
Big Boy: Adds 7" of seat width, for larger frame buyers or anyone who wants more room and stability.
Tool Tray: Bolts to the underside of the chair to hold sockets, loose bolts, and shop rags.
Sidekick: Side-mounted attachment with cup holders, a tool holder, and storage for spray bottles, polishers, and shop towels.
All accessories are made in Green Bay, Wisconsin and ship with the same warranty and 30-day guarantee as the chairs themselves.
What's the difference between the Sidekick and the Tool Tray, and do I need both?
TheSidekick mounts on the side of the chair for what you're actively using (spray bottles, polishers, microfibers, a cold drink), while the Tool Tray bolts underneath for what you've already used or what might fall (loose bolts, dropped sockets, shop rags, small parts).
They're built to work together, not against each other. Detailers and fabricators who run the Complete Package (Robust Steel Max + Tool Tray + Sidekick) consistently say the two-accessory combo turns the chair into a real mobile workstation. Sidekick at hand for the polisher you're using right now, Tool Tray below for the spent microfibers and parts. If you can only pick one, the Tool Tray is the accessory most buyers later say they wish they'd added from day one.
Can I use the Big Boy and the Sidekick together on the same chair?
No. The Big Boy and the Sidekick cannot be installed on the same chair, they mount in the same location and you have to pick one. Our specialists at (920) 301-3822 can walk you through the right choice if you're not sure.
The decision is usually clean. If you're a larger-frame buyer (or an older buyer wanting more leverage when standing), get the Big Boy. If you're a detailer, fabricator, or anyone who works with supplies at the seat all day, get the Sidekick. The Adjustable Backrest, Adjustable Armrest, and Tool Tray all work with either choice, so you don't lose any other accessories by picking one over the other.
Is the Adjustable Backrest worth the upgrade over the stock backrest?
For most buyers, the stock backrest is built right and works exactly as designed. The Adjustable Backrest is the upgrade for the buyer who lives in the chair, taller height range, up to 10° of recline, and the ability to dial in the support position to your specific body and the way you actually work.
Roughly half of buyers add it during initial chair configuration. The other half buy it months later, after deciding they want to fine-tune the backrest position even further. Reviewers consistently describe it as the upgrade that turns the chair from "comfortable" into "I never want to get up." Compatible with the Robust Steel Max and Elevated Steel Max chairs, and pairs with either the Big Boy or the Sidekick.
Who should buy the Big Boy attachment?
The Big Boy adds 7" of additional seat width, built for two specific buyers: larger-frame customers (280 lbs and up, or anyone who finds the standard seat too narrow) and older buyers who want more leverage when sitting down and standing up.
Reviewers consistently call it a confidence upgrade. The wider seat means you don't have to perfectly center yourself when sitting, and the wider surface gives you something to push off when standing. It's the most-recommended upgrade in the Vyper review base for buyers in their 60s, 70s, and 80s. Available on all Vyper chairs except the Low-Pro and Robust Steel Sport. Cannot be combined with the Sidekick.
Can I add Vyper accessories to a chair I already own?
Yes. Every Vyper accessory is designed to bolt onto chairs already in your shop, you don't have to buy them at the same time as the chair. Roughly half of buyers add accessories during the initial chair configuration. The other half buy them weeks or months later, after deciding what they actually need.
The Tool Tray, Sidekick, Big Boy, Adjustable Backrest, and Adjustable Armrest all install with basic hand tools and ship with instructions and hardware included. If you bought your Vyper chair years ago, the accessories from today's lineup are still compatible with the standard chair models. Call (920) 301-3822 if you're not sure whether an accessory fits an older chair.
Which Vyper accessories work with the Low-Pro and Robust Steel Pro stools?
The Big Boy is not compatible with the Low-Pro, but is compatible with the Robust Steel Sport. The Tool Tray and Sidekick are designed primarily for the Robust Steel Max and Elevated Steel Max chair frames. For a stool-specific tool-holding solution, the Robust Steel Pro ships with a built-in stationary tool tray as a standard feature, no add-on required.
