The chair that matches your bench. You've got a workbench that's taller than standard. Maybe you welded the legs higher because your back can't handle hunching anymore. Maybe your fab table sits at counter height, your woodworking bench is built tall, or you're at a reloading bench, a TIG setup, or a workstation that wasn't designed for a regular shop chair. The Elevated Steel Max sits where you work, with the same anti-tip base and lifetime steel as the Robust Steel Max, just taller.
And if you're running a shop where your guys are welding, fabricating, or working on standing-height benches, the Elevated Steel Max is the chair that lets them sit through the work instead of standing on tired feet for eight hours.

Your Problems. Our Solution.
Vyper chairs are built to fix the everyday problems that cheap shop chairs create. If your chair makes the job harder, more painful, or more frustrating than it needs to be, it’s time to upgrade.
Sore Back & knees?
Work in All-Day Comfort
Cheap chairs put your body in the wrong position for hours. Vyper gives you the cushioning, lumbar support, and adjustable height you need to stay comfortable, stay focused, and get through long days without paying for it later.
Don't Trust Your Chair?
Trust the chair you work in
Most shop chairs are made from cheap plastics and lightweight materials that wear down fast and need replacing every six months. Vyper chairs are built like a tank with all-steel construction to support up to 400 lbs with zero flex.
Tired of Tipping Over?
Roll Safely Over Anything
Tiny casters catch on cracks, cords, zip ties, and uneven concrete, which can send the chair sideways and put you at risk of injury. Vyper uses 4-inch industrial-grade casters and a 5-point anti-tip base to safely roll over anything without dumping you on the floor.
Proudly American Made
Designed, manufactured, and packaged in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Every chair, every cart, every creeper.
This is one of those products you have to see to fully appreciate. Watch the videos below, from the day it arrives at your door to the day it lives in your garage.

Fantastic engineering! You need true focus when putting it together. Any mistakes are miserable to correct because of all the bolts. Sense of accomplishment when done was enough to bury the frustration. Sturdy, well built and rolls well.
Structurally the chair is excellent. It takes a while to decipher and get in tune with the instructions. It was necessary to read all brochures for everything I purchased before it made sense. But once that was done it went smoothly. I am disappointed in the quality of the casters. I had 2 that wouldn’t turn because the bolt was too tight and the brake tab on one was bent and had to be straightened and adjusted. But it all worked out.
I purchased the Ultimate EZ Lift Package with the taller chair & shorter chair. Very happy with both, I do like having 5 wheels and the way the bracing is made which makes it very strong and stable. Chairs are too nice to take to the shop, I put them together in the living room, wife said take them to the shop not staying in the house. Lol
Got to admit I did cry once when I first purchased them but after I started receiving all the emails letting me know they received the order, now packing one of them, now packing the second chair and told me when they would ship and when I would receive it, I started getting excited. They came in 4 different boxes and delivered all the same day. What they say is true “Cry once & Buy once”.
What a chair!! From the packaging to rolling around this is a great chair. I really couldn't afford this chair it was a "I want one to see what it is" kind of buy. It turns out to be a good buy. The build quality is unmatched and very appealing to the eyes. It stands out in my garage, The material used is again just plain great. The only thing I would want for my chair as an extra is the adjustable back rest brace, They don't have any in the FORD blue at the moment and hope you all get back to me when its done. Very very nice chair. Thank you for such a study and good looking chair.
should have ordered all of the accessories at the same time. Oh well I have them now, wish I could get some kind of discount on the last thing I need, the big boy seat. After all this chair will be $1300.00 (close).
If I would have had a chance to see and sit in one first, I would not have bought one. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. So even after researching and feeling good about purchasing one, I'm still disappointed in my purchase.
The main reason is the product is completely overpriced. I would put a retail value of $395 to $495 depending on model of chair or stool. Then, even though all the specs were disclosed, the seat and backrest could stand to be a bit wider just for that added comfort.
The construction should last a lifetime for me as a DIY'er. The instructions for assembly could use better detail, especially if one is not mechanically inclined!!
Respects,
Mike
I bought the tall stool for hubby. I had to put a blanket over it, just to bring it in the house. It’s a Christmas present. I couldn’t lift it, hence the blanket. Hubs is 76, this will be a fabulous helper.
I absolutely love the chair, can tell its made with pride. Only thing I didn't like when assembling was the bags of hardware weren't labeled very good, I definitely might have overlooked something. Like maybe say you need 2 bolts out of bag B or something. I figured it out and the chair is amazing.
Thanks!
Bought this because I own a gun store and got tired of trying to find a good Amazon option. Ran across these on social media, click bait got the best of me and after about a week of pondering I pulled the trigger. My counter at the shop is 42" tall (taller than most). So far I've had this thing for 2 days and it is SOLID. Love that it came with 2 locking casters. love the height adjustment and the foot rail is in the perfect spot. My butt is in this thing for a solid 6 hours a day so it's game changer.
Worth the money.
i struggled with finding the right product with the features that would come with it. It would’ve been a quicker decision on which product to purchase if there was a screen that showed all of the chairs in the category on a single sheet with their names below those pictures you might have already done that, but for someone who’s not computer savvy, it took a while to access that information. The product is very well built, and the instructions were easy to understand assembly.
I bought this to use in my home kitchen as a seat while I cook……I really like the height adjustment lever on the chair. It meets all my expectations. Although pricey the build quality is excellent.
The quality of the build is evident right out of the box. Vyper really over designed these chairs. I was extremely impressed at how all of the legs aren't just bolted to the base, but also interlock together. If I ever have to replace my elevated steel it will be with another Vyper.
It is a great chair. The only issue that I see is the instructions and videos need updated and explained better. The videos only show 1 style of the chair not the most up to date. Also the instructions for the address ons need to be videod as well. For the adjustable back and arms. I don't mean any negativity on it they're a great chair.
You buy a $600 dollar chair and they don't even send you all of the bolts in the package. Bags of bolts came destroyed, missing parts. Will not be buying anything from here again. This should've been marked as used. Unreal
Seems to be a good chair. Instructions aren’t too bad just gotta make sure when you put that foot ring on you got all the connections on the right side and not mixing them up. You’ll run out of room for your tension bars anyway I haven’t got to use it that much but I like it. I got the big boy seat have not installed it. I think I have to take something apart to put that on. But the bracket to hold the seat . And to sit on hydraulic lifter . Difficult at least for me to bolts together. There’s not really room to do it. Maybe the brackets were spread apart a little bit it be easy. That being said that’s why I have not bothered to install the fat boy seat because I don’t wanna go through that again.
I am not a mechanic and this is not for any kind of work. I just needed a tall chair to sit at my drafting table for with my little projects. I just couldn’t see spending $200 on an office chair so that’s why I got this. And it does like to roll around real fast . Yes you gotta be careful in my old age that I don’t have it shoot out from underneath me when trying to sit. Yes I’m aware of the brakes on the wheels. Anyway feels like a solid product. I’m glad I purchased.
The chair is very well built and easy to assemble. Just remember to install the two locking casters next to each other. The thick seat cushion plus lumbar back support makes it easy to stay comfortable while working in my shop.

The quality of the chair and arm rest add on is exceptional. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I have one suggestion:
The chair arrived about two weeks prior to the arm rest. I assumed that it may require some disassembly to add the arm rest later, but it would have been helpful to call that out so I could have avoided some extra effort.
Very nice chair overall. Sturdy as heck and rolls like a dream. I also purchased the tool tray and big boy seat addition. For some reason, Vyper wants the lower sheet metal reinforcement brackets installed that so they they impede into the tool tray. Not sure why they do this so I just flipped them 180 degrees to match the profile of the foot bar. I have a stool and a chair and chose the acme rod. This leaves a large hole in the middle of the tool tray! I removed the large rubber grommet from the middle of the tool tray and measured the hole at 2.875" I found a black plastic plug by "Caplugs" at 3.00" that fits the hole perfectly and installed them from the bottom on the chair and stool. If someone screws the acme rod down too far, it just pops out the plug without causing any damage. Vyper should really include one of these plugs with each tool tray in case you are not using the pneumatic height adjustment. They are dirt cheap. If someone screws the acme rod down too far, it just pops out the plug without causing any damage. On both my stool and chair the aluminum compression collar holes and the holes in the pentagon do not line up correctly. I had to drill out the holes on the collar flange about .040" (1mm) on this one to get the assembly together. I would also recommend taking a needle grease adapter on your grease gun and give each caster swivel bearing a little pump of grease 180 degrees apart. They are not dry, but a little shy of my preference. All in all a great chair. I would definitely recommend to others.
Alex Bowman Elevated is an absolute work of art that’s built better than anything I own! It’s functional and the perfect height for my work tables. The design and craftsmanship is second to none. Well worth the money and is definitely built to last a lifetime!!
Glad that I purchased the elevating chair, while putting the chair together the quality of the product you built was undeniable, it brought me back to what made in the USA was all about. Everything fit perfectly it was a pleasure to put it all together. I was also impressed with the larger seat and the adjustable arms, with that combination I can really feel the comfort and stability of the chair which I need for my physical condition. I now own both the chair and the stool. They are a great addition to my garage and I know I won’t be concerned with either of them breaking down on me.
Thank you for taking the time to build a. quality product.
This is a big purchase. What if I'm not satisfied?
We get it. The price is more than you've spent on a shop chair/stool/cart before, and you can't sit in it before you buy it. That's why every Vyper purchase comes with a 30-day, 100% money-back guarantee. Roll it, sit in it, put it through a real weekend in your shop. If it's not what we said it was, send it back. We'll refund every penny and cover the return shipping.

Working at tall fab tables, weld benches, or counter-height workstations? Our Elevated Steel Max chair.
Detailing, polishing, or any work close to the ground?Low Pro stool. For ultra-low work (wheels, baseboards, lower body panels), pair it with a Mini Creeper.
Working under cars, trucks, or anything that needs an undercar position?Lay-Down Creeper. Foldable Creeper if you need a portable secondary.
If your work cycles between multiple positions (which most working shops do), check our bundles. We've configured packages around the way buyers actually work.

I already have a shop stool, why should I upgrade?
Honest answer: if your current stool works for you, doesn't hurt your back, doesn't tip when you reach, doesn't have foam that's flat, and isn't on its way to the dumpster within a year or two, you don't need to upgrade.
But that's not why most buyers come to us. Most buyers upgrade because they've owned three or four cheap stools at $80 to $150 each and they're tired of the cycle. Foam compresses. Wheels break. Frames bend. Welds pop. Within two years, the stool is junk and they're shopping again.
A Vyper chair starts around $475 and includes a lifetime warranty on the frame, hardware, and casters. Buy once. Sit comfortably. Stop replacing every couple of years. The math works out over a decade.
The other reason buyers upgrade: the cheap stool was hurting them. Bad foam, no lumbar support, low weight capacity, narrow seat. After 30 years of trade work, that stool wasn't doing them any favors. The Vyper is the chair that finally lets them keep working without paying for it the next morning.
Is Vyper actually made in the USA?
Yes. Every chair, stool, cart, and creeper is designed, welded, powder-coated, and assembled in Wisconsin. Built here, by Americans, on American soil.
The team that builds your equipment is the same team you'll talk to if you call customer service. Pioneering shop equipment manufacturing in the U.S. since 2020.
When you buy a Vyper, you're paying American workers, not subsidizing factories overseas. That matters to a lot of our customers. It matters to us too.
Are Vyper products good for older buyers, people with bad backs, or those with mobility issues?
A real pattern across our reviews: customers in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, customers with back surgeries, amputees, customers with sciatica, and customers with bad knees explicitly mention Vyper as the equipment that lets them keep working in the shop.
A few specific reasons why:
The Robust Steel Max and Elevated Steel Max chairs have lumbar-support backrests and 3.5-inch industrial foam seats. The smooth EZ-Lift height adjustment lets you dial in the exact position your back needs without fighting a stuck pin. The five-caster anti-tip base keeps the chair planted when you're sitting down or standing up.
The Big Boy attachment is the most-recommended upgrade for older buyers. The wider seat means you don't have to perfectly center yourself when sitting down, and the wider surface gives you leverage to push off when standing. Reviewers explicitly mention this as a confidence upgrade for buyers worried about getting in and out of the chair safely.
The Adjustable Armrest gives older buyers something solid to grip while sitting down or standing up. Multiple reviewers in their 70s and 80s call this a safety upgrade, not a comfort one. Customers with mobility limitations and amputees mention the armrests as the reason they can use the chair independently.
The Adjustable Backrest is the upgrade for buyers with sciatica, spinal surgeries, or chronic back issues. The height adjustment puts lumbar support exactly where it needs to be. The 10-degree tilt lets you change positions throughout the day instead of being locked into one angle.
The Mini Creeper and Low Pro stool keep you off the concrete for low work. Buyers who can't kneel anymore use these for the wheel detailing, brake jobs, baseboards, and outlet wiring that used to mean kneeling on the floor.
If you have specific concerns about whether a Vyper product is right for your situation, call us at (920) 301-3822 before ordering. Real humans in Green Bay who can talk through your specific needs and recommend the right configuration.
Gear worth your workspace.
Build your dream garage with chairs, carts, creepers and fans that are guaranteed to outlast anything else in your shop.
