This item does not fit with the arm supports. It would have been nice to know that before it was purchased.

I’m retired. I built a garage so I could keep busy and do things I love to do like detailing and working on my car. The Vyper Robust Steel Max with the side kick and tool tray fit in perfectly. It is a welcome addition to the garage.
Great product you won’t go wrong buying it
The Sidekick works great! Holds my towels, sprayer and an adult beverage! Had to flip it over to work with the Big Boy attachment, which actually put it at a better height for me. It’s not available in blue, so I had mine powder coated and textured blue to match the other parts of my chair. Love my totally maxed out Robust Steel Max!
Never enough room, an addition that gives you more room for tools etc

easy to install - the perfect add-on
It did not work with the stool in the wide seat option. I just wish there would be an exclaimer on it that it does not work with the wide seat I didn't catch it till I got it home. It did work on the other manual adjustable stool that I bought. I purchased two total. Just sent the other one back that didn't work with the wide seat. Hopefully the return goes well? Thanks to all that make Vyper possible.

Great add for what im doing with the chair I have a mobilehome toter with a lot of stainless. Will be doing polishing. I have a bad back so using the chair with this is going to make it better. Happy with purchase.

Probably a nice product, but i never ipened the box, i feel like it wiuld have gotten in the way, plus with the tray underneath there is enough “storage”
The sidekick was bigger than I expected, but it should be fine once I get used to moving the chair around remembering to make room for the extending arms of the sidekick. I am thankful that there are rubber bumpers on the outer edge of the sidekick to protect items in my garage from being bumped. Once I get used to moving the chair around, this won't be much of an issue.
holds drinks and small parts
This is a combination birthday/Father’s Day present. My husband details cars so I know that this will definitely be more comfortable and useful than what he is currently using.
Bought the red chair and very nice and strong. Bought the cup holder so drinks go with me instead of looking around for it
A couple small issues with assembly but very well built
Had I known I like would have liked the wide-load model better. I'm a tall person and I could use a bigger target. I have a lift, but I'm so tall I can't stand up under it. This has been a pleasure for me to lower the lift and lean back to look up without falling. I'm 74 and retired early to restore cars for fun. I'd like to suggest what would be a help to me, and other handicapped people like myself, that you add a power-lift in addition to the controlled landing. I still have to get up to trigger the raised seat. Now, if it had a power boost that was activated by a hand hydraulic unit, in addition to the controlled lowering, this would be very versatile. I can visualize a lever pump or a hand-held hydraulic pump like used on a piece of traction equipment I use. In addition, I found the short levers on the locking casters very difficult to use. I just used some 4" caster with longer levers. The longer lever requires less force. I found it humorous that the parts I stashed in the tray disappeared when I went to reach for them. My wife left her purse on the edge of a rotating restaurant and it disappeared, too. I think the best thing about the chair building it yourself. My wife commented on how robot-like they look. She said that she was surprised, at that price, that they didn't assemble themselves. I enjoyed the build.

I ordered 2 Viper chairs about a month. Ago and I love them. just ordered The sidekick cup holders for one of the chairs. It's close enough to not be cumbersome, yet holds what I need. As with the chair, this will last the rest of my life. Eventually, it may move in the house when I get really old, to enable me to just roll around.

What accessories are available for Vyper chairs and stools?
The most-purchased Vyper accessories are the Adjustable Backrest, Adjustable Armrest, Big Boy, Tool Tray, and Sidekick. Each one solves a specific problem:
- Adjustable Backrest: Replaces the stock backrest with a 10° tilt and 4" of height adjustment, for buyers who want to dial in lumbar support exactly.

What's the difference between the Sidekick and the Tool Tray, and do I need both?
The Sidekick mounts on the side of the chair for what you're actively using (spray bottles, polishers, microfibers, a cold drink), while the Tool Tray bolts underneath for what you've already used or what might fall (loose bolts, dropped sockets, shop rags, small parts).
They're built to work together, not against each other. Detailers and fabricators who run the Complete Package (Robust Steel Max + Tool Tray + Sidekick) consistently say the two-accessory combo turns the chair into a real mobile workstation. Sidekick at hand for the polisher you're using right now, Tool Tray below for the spent microfibers and parts. If you can only pick one, the Tool Tray is the accessory most buyers later say they wish they'd added from day one.
Can I use the Big Boy and the Sidekick together on the same chair?
No. The Big Boy and the Sidekick cannot be installed on the same chair, they mount in the same location and you have to pick one. Our specialists at (920) 301-3822 can walk you through the right choice if you're not sure.
The decision is usually clean. If you're a larger-frame buyer (or an older buyer wanting more leverage when standing), get the Big Boy. If you're a detailer, fabricator, or anyone who works with supplies at the seat all day, get the Sidekick. The Adjustable Backrest, Adjustable Armrest, and Tool Tray all work with either choice, so you don't lose any other accessories by picking one over the other.
Is the Adjustable Backrest worth the upgrade over the stock backrest?
For most buyers, the stock backrest is built right and works exactly as designed. The Adjustable Backrest is the upgrade for the buyer who lives in the chair, taller height range, up to 10° of recline, and the ability to dial in the support position to your specific body and the way you actually work.
Roughly half of buyers add it during initial chair configuration. The other half buy it months later, after deciding they want to fine-tune the backrest position even further. Reviewers consistently describe it as the upgrade that turns the chair from "comfortable" into "I never want to get up." Who should buy the Big Boy attachment?

Can I add Vyper accessories to a chair I already own?
Yes. Every Vyper accessory is designed to bolt onto chairs already in your shop, you don't have to buy them at the same time as the chair. The Tool Tray, Sidekick, Big Boy, Adjustable Backrest, and Adjustable Armrest all install with basic hand tools and ship with instructions and hardware included. Which Vyper accessories work with the Low-Pro and Robust Steel Pro stools?
The Vyper Backrest add-on works on the Robust Steel Pro and the Low-Pro Backrest works on the Low Pro, for buyers who started with a stool form factor and decided they wanted lumbar support after the fact.
The Big Boy is not compatible with the Low-Pro, but is compatible with the Robust Steel Sport. The Tool Tray and Sidekick are designed primarily for the Robust Steel Max and Elevated Steel Max chair frames. For a stool-specific tool-holding solution, the Robust Steel Pro ships with a built-in stationary tool tray as a standard feature, no add-on required.
