SPECS & DIMENSIONS
These large casters glide over any surface, loose debris and even zip ties. Helps with stability and prevents tipping.
Every Vyper chair is hand-built in Green Bay, Wisconsin. No cheap parts, no shortcuts. Every component fabricated by Americans who give a damn about what they build.
Sit in it for a month. Roll it across your shop floor. Beat on it. If it's not the best chair you've ever owned, send it back for 100% of your money.
The ROBUST STEEL MAX (Don't Delete | For Test) ships free to your door from our Wisconsin facility. Most orders go out within 48 hours, and you'll get tracking the moment it leaves the dock. No surprise fees, no third-party warehouse delays.
Stuff happens. A caster wears out, a bolt strips, a weld doesn't hold. If rare event ever happens, send it back and we'll replace it. Frame, casters, and hardware are covered for life. Everything else is covered for 5 years.
Vyper gear and equipment is trusted by the best in the business.
Everything you need to know before you upgrade.
It depends on the work and the bench you're sitting at.
The Robust Steel Max is our top seller. Use it for engine work, brake jobs, detailing, and anything happening at standard workbench height. Adjusts from 17 to 22.5 inches.
The Elevated Steel Max is the same chair sized for taller workstations. If you weld, fabricate, work at counter-height benches, or have a workbench you built taller because of a bad back, this is the one. Adjusts from 24 to 29.5 inches.
The Robust Steel Sport is the more affordable RSM-style chair with a lower minimum height. Good for buyers who do a lot of low work (brakes, wheel detailing) and want a lower price point. Adjusts from 14 to 21 inches.
If you're looking for a stool instead of a chair (no backrest, fixed height, simpler build), check out the Robust Steel Pro, the Low Pro, or the Mini Creeper in our Stools category.
Still unsure? Call us at (920) 301-3822. Real humans in Green Bay who can walk you through the right pick for your shop.
We get it. The price is more than you've spent on a shop chair/stool/cart before, and you can't sit in it before you buy it. That's why every Vyper purchase comes with a 30-day, 100% money-back guarantee. Roll it, sit in it, put it through a real weekend in your shop. If it's not what we said it was, send it back. We'll refund every penny and cover the return shipping.
The lifetime warranty on the frame, hardware, and casters covers you long after the 30 days are up. If you have questions before or after purchase, call (920) 301-3822 and you'll reach a real person at our Green Bay headquarters. Not a chatbot, not an offshore call center. The team that builds your chair is the team that picks up the phone.
We've built this so the risk is on us, not you.

Three different height adjustment systems. Same chair frame, different ways to change the seat height.
EZ-Lift uses a gas cylinder, like an office chair. Pull the lever, the seat raises or lowers smoothly, you let go, it locks in place. Easiest to use, smoothest experience, most popular choice. The EZ-Lift allows the seat to swivel.
Quick Height uses a mechanical system. Lift the seat up with both hands and use the levers to drop it down. The seat does not spin with this height adjustment.
Acme Rod uses a threaded rod that you spin to raise or lower the seat. Slowest to adjust but offers the smallest fine-tuning increments. Best for buyers who set the height once and rarely change it. This adjustment allows the seat to swivel.
Most buyers pick EZ-Lift. The other two exist for buyers with specific preferences.
Standard configuration: 400 lb capacity, 14-inch round seat, height range varies by model (RSM 17-22.5", ESM 24-29.5", Sport 14-21").
If you're a bigger frame (6'2"+ and over 250 lbs), the standard 14-inch seat can put you on the edges instead of in the chair. The Big Boy attachment adds 7 inches of seat width and a thick steel base plate. Works for buyers up to 400 lbs comfortably and frames as large as 6'7".
If you're average frame, the standard seat works fine. Adding the Big Boy is optional but many buyers add it anyway for extra stability.
If you have specific concerns about fit, call us at (920) 301-3822 before ordering. We'll talk through it.
A real pattern in our reviews: customers using Vyper chairs at home offices, recording studios, reloading benches, computer workstations, and gaming setups. The chair is built for shop work, but the comfort, adjustability, and durability make it work anywhere you sit for hours.
Some buyers add the Adjustable Armrest to convert the chair fully into an office build. Others use it as-is. Either way, the same lifetime warranty applies whether the chair lives in your garage or your home office
Yes. Every chair, stool, cart, and creeper is designed, welded, powder-coated, and assembled in Wisconsin. Built here, by Americans, on American soil.
The team that builds your equipment is the same team you'll talk to if you call customer service. Pioneering shop equipment manufacturing in the U.S. since 2020.
When you buy a Vyper, you're paying American workers, not subsidizing factories overseas. That matters to a lot of our customers. It matters to us too.
Build your dream garage with chairs, carts, creepers and fans that are guaranteed to outlast anything else in your shop.
