We’re excited to introduce the EZ-Lift, our smoothest and most precise height adjustment mechanism yet.
To help you get the most out of it, whether you’re buying a new chair or upgrading an existing one, we’ve put together this guide covering compatibility, accessories, and height ranges.
1. What is the EZ-Lift?
The EZ-Lift system is Vyper’s fastest, smoothest height adjustment yet. It features a robust, industrial-grade gas cylinder allowing you to adjust your chair effortlessly with a simple lever and enjoy full 360° seat swivel separate from the base. This isn't your average height adjustment. The gas cylinder is load-rated for 1000 lbs. so like all Vyper products, it’s engineered to last, no matter how hard you work.
2. What chairs are available with the EZ-Lift system?
The EZ-Lift system is available on both the Robust Steel Max and Elevated Steel Max chairs.

3. Can my existing chair be upgraded with EZ-Lift?
Absolutely. If you own a Robust Steel Max or Elevated Steel Max with the Acme Rod or Quick Height Adjustment system, you can easily upgrade your chair with the EZ-Lift Kit.

4. Which accessories are compatible with the EZ-Lift?
Most of your favorites work exactly as expected. Sidekicks, adjustable backrests, and Big Boy accessories are all fully compatible with EZ-Lift chairs and the EZ-Lift Kit.
5. Is the adjustable armrest compatible with EZ-Lift?
Not yet. The adjustable armrest attachment doesn’t currently work with EZ-Lift models or the kit. We know how much you love this feature, and our team is already working on a fix so you won’t have to choose in the future.
6. What about tool tray compatibility with the EZ-Lift?
Tool trays purchased before August 15, 2025 aren’t compatible with the Robust Steel Max EZ-Lift due to the thicker cylinder.
To solve this, we now offer a new tool tray that pairs perfectly with EZ-Lift models.
Elevated Steel Max EZ models are unaffected and older trays still fit those just fine.

7. What are the height adjustment ranges with the EZ-Lift?
Here’s the quick reference chart:
EZ-Lift Kit:
- Robust Steel Max: 19”–24”
- Elevated Steel Max: 27”–32”
EZ-Lift Models:
- Robust Steel Max: 17.5”–22.5”
- Elevated Steel Max: 24”–29”
